On November 26th, 2023, we held the third edition of LATAMesa + Latitud Club Social with artist Daniel Rey, who invited us to take part in the public programme of his solo show "What Time Leads The Willing Body to Do" at Koppel Collective.
This event launched and introduced Latitud Club Social, inviting Latin American artists and friends to create a caring and supportive network for fellow artists living in the UK.
We proposed a space to meet, talk, eat, and promote future projects.

On July 8th, 2023, we held our second encounter in collaboration with the exhibition De, Desde, En, Entre, Hacia, which was curated by Sophia Sacal and featured the works of 10 Latinx artists residing in various latitudes of the world. The event took place at SET Woolwich and provided a lively gathering where attendees were encouraged to bring a dish evoking memories of home.
Moreover, we extended a special invitation to performance artist Andrea Sisó, who led an intervention and presented a performative dessert that delved into the complex colonial histories and transgenerational journeys of ingredients that have traversed borders. We were also grateful for the support from Estrella Damm and Brixton Brewery for this event.
On June 10th, 2023, we hosted our launch event for LATAMesa at Hartslane in Deptford. The event brought together a cohort of emerging art professionals from various Latin American backgrounds. It featured a thoughtfully curated lunch during which we aimed to engage in a nuanced discussion on the broad paradigm of ‘Latin America’ from a personal perspective, drawing from individual experiences of diaspora and migration. Our aim was to foster conversations about the meaning and prerequisites for constructing notions of care, community, and solidarity within the art industry, particularly among Latinx individuals. The session proved to be a nourishing experience, offering valuable insights into the Latin American art community in London.
